About Us
Dear Students,
On behalf of the faculty, staff, and students of the Department of Civil Engineering at IEU I welcome you to our web site. Our department is located in the heart of the beautiful city of Izmir and offers an excellent opportunity for both technical and personal education. Our program is designed to provide an excellent education in the field of civil engineering, while emphasizing social and ethical values, cultural knowledge, and life-long learning. In the four years of your education, you will have the opportunity to take courses in the fields of fundamental science, engineering science, humanities, and social sciences.
The medium of education in the program of Civil Engineering is English. Moreover, you will also learn a second foreign language offered by our university and will also have the opportunity to spend up to one academic year of education in European universities through the Erasmus program. I would like to emphasize that the construction industry in Turkey is among the strongest industries with over 1.5 billion USD contracts around the world. Hence, your proficiency in two languages will be invaluable in your career development.
We are committed to provide a high quality education by the recruitment of top-notch faculty members and with our state-of-the-art experimental and computing laboratories. If you are considering civil engineering as your future profession I strongly advise you to consider our department and be part of our friendly environment.
